Mosquito nets for Kids

Mosquito nets for Kids
Each day Malaria claims the lives of 320 Ugandans.
Your donations can help to pay for the purchase and distribution of mosquito nets to vulnerable children in 25 child headed households – homes where children have been orphaned by Aids - in the Masaka district of Uganda, Your support will help provide these girls and boys with access a mosquito net.

Malaria is a parasitic disease responsible for the deaths of at least a million people every year, 90% of whom live in sub-Saharan Africa, and almost all of these deaths are amongst children (at least a million more deaths occur from malaria related complications such as severe anemia).

However sleeping under insecticide-treated mosquito nets can reduce the incidence of malaria by half – most insect bites from Malaria carrying mosquitos take place at nighttime between 2am and 6am when people are asleep. Sleeping under a malaria net not only prevents insects from biting people but also kills any insects when they make contact with the insecticide-treated nets.
